Russia is getting stronger while the U. S. grows weaker: Who Wins?

The recent problems in Crimea  and Ukraine have brought some intense confrontation between Russia and the United States.

I think it might get worse before it gets better…not that it will get better. It might not for a while. The new cold war could become a hot war if the wrong people happen to be in power. This could be a problem.

President Putin intends to ride the Russian bear to victory. The U.S. president doesn’t have the will to stop him.

Putin, the president of Russia, looks to be up to the challenge but Obama, the organizer of communities doesn’t look ready or willing to get involved.

The timing is perfect for Putin to lead Russia to a position of greater strength in the near future. The next two to three years could see Russia expand it’s reach into former Soviet States as well as strengthen it’s influence in many Middle East and Far East countries.

Several Middle East countries are reaching out to Russia to start, continue, or complete military exchanges and cooperation. The U.S. is pulling back. That most likely will continue pulling back until a new president is in place. What will happen during that time?

Some people don’t want to find out. Maybe the whole world doesn’t want to find out.

The bear of Russia is probably the country that is prophesied to lead an army of nations into Israel some day. Things do look to be falling into place for Russia to become a mighty force that fears no rebuttal or interference when they move against Israel.

Here are some notes from a Chuck Smith sermon on Ezekiel 38-39.

“THE COMING WAR”

I. NECESSARY PRE-EXISTING FACTORS.

A. Israel had to become a nation again.

1. God began giving details about this in chapter 34.

2. Chapter 36, He speaks of the agricultural developments.

a. “The desolate area has become like the garden of Eden.”

3. Chapter 37, valley of dry bones and two sticks.

B. There were to be forests again. 34:25/39:10

1. The Turks in their long occupation denuded the land.

2. The Israelis in one of the first major projects began planting trees.

3. Millions of trees now planted – they proudly point out their forests.

II. THE IDENTITY OF MAGOG – ROSH, MESHECH, TUBAL.

III. THE TIME OF THE BATTLE – “LATTER YEARS”. (38:8)

IV. THE RESULTS OF THE BATTLE.

A. 5/6 of invaders destroyed. 39:2

B. Weapons cache will provide fuel for Israel for seven years.

C. Seven months in burying dead.

D. The end of Israel’s backsliding and blindness. 39:22

V. GOD BEING SANCTIFIED IN THE EYES OF ALL NATIONS.

A. He speaks of ten of that day that will come.

Ez. 20:41/28:22,25/36:23.

B. This promised day comes when Russia and allies destroyed.

C. Ez. 39:27-29.

VI. WHERE DOES THIS PLACE THE CHURCH?

A. Romans 11:25 – “Blindness has happened to Israel till the fullness of the gentiles be come in.”

B. II Thess. 6,7.

1. The restraining force holding back the power of the anti-Christ. That which hinders shall hinder until He be taken out of the way.

 

The War of Ezekiel 38-39 is coming. I don’t know when that is. I don’t get into guessing dates. I even try to steer clear of assigning nations to prophecies unless it is very clear. Russia isn’t clearly defined in the bible as Magog. It’s just a good educated guess. I have often thought it could be Turkey or even Pakistan.

It will be a nation in the last days that leads a group of nations against Israel. The bible is clear on some of those nations.

1. Persia (Iran)
2. Ethiopia (Northern Sudan?)
3. Libya

These nations will be involved.
